The Speaker

I am on top of the famous wooden box trying to communicate with the public but nobody listens to me, not even the bird on a branch of the tree.
From left: the boy who only loves himself, the blind violinist, the Jewish beggar, the two who leave each other (a tear falls to him and she is pleased), at his feet a laughing frog, the trio of the priest with two pious women, the girl in the plaid dress and the feather on her hat who dreams of her independence. In the background: a maid who is taking a child to the dentist, while a young friar begins to doubt his vocation, the girl who would like to belong to a higher social class, the trio of rich nobles, a guard with a pregnant nanny.
Behind the tree: a rich and hypocritical bourgeois tries to seduce a maiden. A shocked but attracted nun looks elsewhere. A little snail that goes on its way.
